Environment
Commercial and residential buildings emit 23% of Australia's greenhouse gas.
Purchasers of windows and doors can support the environment and protect themselves against high energy costs and loud noise if quotations are assessed on:
- Style,
- Functionality,
- Cost and
- Performance Criteria - U Value, SHGC and Rw Rating.
If your supplier can't provide a U Value, SHGC and an Rw Rating, chances are they can't provide the solution you need. That's not good for the environment or good for you!
Higher Australian Energy Star Rating Requirements
Energy Smart Windows enables you to exceed the requirements of the Building Code of Australia (BCA) and subsequent reviews of minimum standards.
Energy Ratings depends on:
- the layout of the home
- the construction materials in the roof, walls, windows, doors and floor
- the orientation of windows and shading to the sun's path and local breezes
- how well these suit the local climate
Australian minimum energy efficiency standards are being upgraded to 6-stars in the BCA to:
- limit household energy consumption on heating and cooling
- drive significant ongoing improvement in the energy efficiency of Australian buildings
- reduce Australia’s greenhouse gas emissions
